Harvest

I’ve mentioned before that October is my favorite month. Well, I love the scents of autumn, the colors all around, the delicious soups that come out from hiding (I just made this baked potato soup from cooking light & Gabe and I both enjoyed it), and the music. I’ve been listening to the new Mumford & Sons album for the last 17 days and am obsessed with it, seriously. It feels just like fall and that is the best. I woke up this morning and I’m pretty sure there was hail falling from the sky. Later on, it looked like this on my way to work and it just made me feel settled, despite the fact that we are still not finished packing up our apartment (though we’re close- only the kitchen remains, and partially, at that). This is the season to rest and dwell and cook and knit and bundle and be. My friend Ellen is writing this month about home and her words have been soothing to me. Maybe they’ll touch you, too? May your weekend see the sun shining through many clouds, feel a chill through the sun’s warmth, and taste harvestful.
