There's A First Time For Applique

Untitled
So, I had been wanting to try something like this for a while, but you know, didn't. Then I needed to get a gift for my pal who is sort of re-doing her living room and thought that this would be a great time to try it out! I actually whipped this thing out from start to finish in about 2 hours last weekend, and the time just flew! I figured that the applique would take forever, but it wasn't too bad! Now, that doesn't mean it turned out perfectly. As you can see, some of the triangles are a little uneven, despite me taking the time to measure and pin, and one is a little puckered, but overall, I was really happy with how it turned out.

When I showed it to Gabe, he was a little bummed that we weren't keeping it. I promised him that I'd make us something similar.

I am a fan of the back, too. I had one triangle of each fabric leftover, so I thought it would be fun to add them to the back. I think it was!

Have you ever done applique? I'd love for you to link up your projects in the comments section!

I'm linking up with Elizabeth at Sew Chatty for her Made With Love Monday.
